The Auxiliary assists the Coast Guard's Marine Safety Offices (MSOs)/Detachments with public education, support of pollution prevention activities, environmental disaster relief operations, port safety and security inspections, container inspection assistance, mariner licensing/documentation/course audits, area contingency planning, and other assistance as needed.
